From the window to the apple

I have been a MS windows user for a long time, as that were the platform for my Cubase/Toontrack programs. This time it was time to give the Mac OS X and the iMac a chance. I must admit, I can understand they who loves the Apple computers and software. Things just work!

The biggest difference from day one, is the how fast the hibernate / startup shutdown is. Now I use my time on doing real work instead of waiting for the computer to start up, or do virus checks or whatever necessary on the windows platform. I have now also received the first OS upgrade, Snow Leopard, but on to that later.

I’m also surprised how easy to find most software for the Mac OSX, in fact so far I’m not missing anything for my needs.

If I have any problems at all, it is to get used to using the Apple/Command button instead of the typical windows ctrl, and to using one mouse button instead of two (or even three).

I’m glad there is alternatives to windows, as they need to do a lot of improvements before I will consider going back.
